Technical Support Engineer

We’re looking for a Technical Support Engineers who will work with our customers and partners to help them succeed in building, testing and running a VoltDB cluster. The ideal candidate brings a keen eye for analyzing and dissecting problems, an ability to organize and prioritize, and a zeal for keeping customers happy, productive and, above all, up and running.  In this position you will interact with customers through email and the phone, reproduce issues, write and maintain our Knowledge Base, and work with engineering on critical customer issues.

 

The core skills we're looking for include:

  • Excellent communications skills, patience and empathy
  • Experience with SQL databases
  • Experience with back-end software, preferably distributed systems
  • Proficiency in Linux tools and an ability to write analysis tools to help with your day-to-day work
  • BS Computer Science or MS Computer Science (preferred)

Web Programmer (Drupal)

The VoltDB website is our portal to the world and so is one of our most important company assets.  We’re looking for a web programmer who will develop, grow and manage this critical asset using Drupal 7, HTML and other relevant web technologies. The ideal candidate has both the technical skills required to develop the website and a passion for making an impact on our business. The person in this role works closely with the marketing team to develop the website as one of our most essential resources for communicating to, and educating, our customers and target audiences. Knowledge of marketing automation tools (e.g., Marketo, Salesforce.com) and SEO best practices is highly desirable.

 

The core skills we’re looking for include:

  • Drupal 7 including the ability to configure Drupal and create custom modules using the core API
  • 2-3 years’ experience in HTML, CSS, Javascript and other basic web technologies
  • Knowledge of UI/UX and mobile devices to ensure engaging and productive user experience with our website
  • Strong service orientation
  • Team player who will contribute to the energy of a fun marketing and communications environment
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, and Acrobat a plus
  • BS in software development

We’re looking for Software Engineers to join the VoltDB development team.  In this position you will work with a super-smart engineering team to help architect, design and implement new VoltDB features such as high availability, SQL enhancements, data larger than memory support, transaction execution, integrations, management/monitoring tools, etc.

 

The core skills we’re looking for include:

  • Fluent in Java. C/C++ skills a big plus.
  • Experience developing UNIX/Linux systems software.
  • BS Computer Science or MS Computer Science (preferred)

Internships @ VoltDB

VoltDB is an extremely fast, in memory relational database with origins from the H-Store database research performed by Brown, MIT and Yale. We’re looking for interns to join the VoltDB development team.  In this position you will work with a super-smart engineering team to help architect enhancements, data larger than memory support, management tools, etc. We have a great mentoring program that helps internship students succeed. All of our internship students develop features and fix bugs that SHIP in the product.

 

The core skills we're looking for include:

  • Strong hands-on programming experience
  • Familiar with UNIX/Linux software development
  • Knows Java. C/C++ skills a big plus
  • BS Computer Science or MS Computer Science (preferred)
